Timbuktu
I came across this video tonight and it brought back memories of Timbuktu...the Swedish rapper.
No idea what this guy's lyrics are like, but the beats are nice and flow is mothafuckin' tizzy.
Anyone speak Swedish? I'm lost in translation, and I like it.

Vacationer
Philadephia born Vacationer started blowing up recently after a backyard performance at SXSW. Vacationer is the brainchild of lead singer and bassist Kenny Vasoli, formerly of The Starting Line. Needless to say, he has grown the fuck up from that shitty emo-pop teen bullshit, and now has some legit music. Their single "Trip" has been getting some attention, but I'm partial to "Everyone Knows" and some of the remixes. Good music for road tripping.

St. Lucia
This one's for Waser. The first time I heard St. Lucia, I tuned in at the end of Elevate where the horns start to kick in. Immediately I was reminded of Waser pulling up in his blue Corolla blasting Lionel Richie - All Night Long.
I love the 80's synth pop sound St. Lucia puts into his music. I think you'll see what I mean on the opening track of his album When The Night, entitled "The Night Comes Again." Check it out here:

And of course I have to leave you with a little Lionel Richie

Twin Shadows - Beg for the Night
Twin Shadows is a the synthpop creation of George Lewis Jr. He released his first album under the name Twin Shadows back in 2010 Forget and then his second album in 2012 Confess.
I hadn't listened Twin shadows since his last album came out until yesterday. I was at my friends flat for a late breakfast after picking up a haul at the farmers market and I couldn't help but notice Twin Shadows Confess vinyl playing on the stereo. I had forgotten how good of an album that it was and how nice a compliment to the sea buckthorne mimosas and other grub splayed across the table.
Something about his brand of upbeat broody new wave synthpop always seems to catch my ears. I also can't help but appreciate his music video style. It is like something out of The Warriors and holding tight with a true 80s vibe. Check it out for yourself below.

Justin Timberlake – Cabaret (Feat. Drake) (Prod. Timbaland)
Got a bunch of old girls that I threw away for ya
I been in the gym doing two a days for ya
So I can lift ya up when I do the thang to ya
Do do the thing to ya
Girl, truth be told
Part 2 of 2 of the 20/20 Experience will be hitting the shelves next Monday. JT has already released 2 tracks from the upcoming album, TKO and Cabaret for free in preparation for the upcoming album release. The most anticipated track off the album is Cabaret ft. Toronto's own Drake. While Drake's minute long verse is not quite a satisfying time slot as one would have hoped for Drake, but I he's on the track, so I can't complain too much. You can also stream the full album for free courtesy of iTunes.
Heavenly Beat – Complete
Heavenly Beat is a work of former Beach Fossil member John Pena. This is his second album release in as many years. This Texas native is no stranger to making some smooth music as his displays in his new track Complete. The track is off to a good start right off the bat with a mellow, but catchy beat that gets your toes tapping. Then out of no where the steel drum section comes in a takes it to the next level. I have to say that this grew and grew on me through the duration of it and although I had never heard John Pena's solo work before, I am an instant fan, hopefully you will be too!

Chromeo - Over Your Shoulder
All the grass is greener everywhere you look
So many girls our there I could write a book
That one’s ass is leaner
This one’s like Serena
But I think your silhouette is meaner
Yeah Boy, the side project of Parachute Youth’s Johnny Castro is gearing up to release debut track ‘Can’t Get Enough’ on 6th October via Baked Goods. The fruitful product of Castro teaming up Stefan Abingdon when the two became acquainted in their hometown of Putney, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ is a fresh and funky, feel-good track.
‘Can’t Get Enough’ combines uplifting vocals with an easy-going beat that just oozes summer vibes. A light funk guitar sample bounces around the beat while a catchy piano melody provides the glue; there’s more to this tune than first appears. Extremely infectious but by no means oversimplified, the blissful melodies and groovy guitar samples coalesce flawlessly to produce this fun, harmonious debut from Yeah Boy.
Johnny and Stefan have already seen wild success in their previous projects, including a number two position on the iTunes music charts and millions of hits on their Youtube channel, respectively. Although just at the start of Yeah Boy’s musical journey, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ will be followed by an EP, which is sure to not disappoint.
Foxygen – Shuggie
Foxygen is coming out with another brilliant track, which sounds like it was found on some old 60s vinyl. However, Foxygen, is anything but old. The band started in 2005, but did not get much attention until their Take the Kids Off Broadway EP in 2011. Foxygen sound is right out of the avante guard psychedelic movement of the 60s, but put into a modern day context to keep it fresh. With an androgenous lead sounding lead singer who seems to resemble Dylan's wispy lyrical format, Foxygen give you a feeling of sitting somewhere in the past, but with all the modern comforts of today. Shuggie, is a complex track with almost 4 completely separate parts that seems to have little if any correlation to each other. However, they come together to create a truly unique an enjoyable track.

Sam Smith - Safe With Me (Marce Reazon Remix)
Sam Smith has been blowing up on the scene earlier this summer with his track 'Safe With Me'. Smith is part of the resurgence of high quality UK R&B and I gotta say i'm a real sucker for some good R&B. Sam's emotional lyrics and haunting background melody help to make a name for this track, but for me it is the New Yorker Marce Reazon remix which really enhances the song with its pulsing 808 beat to help give the song a little more bounce. I am looking forward to seeing what else Mr. Smith has in store for us down the road.

Alex Cheatle - Sweet Loving(ft. Star Slinger & Flume)
Alex Cheatle is a 19 singer out of the UK with some serious talent. Besides taking a genius track from Star Slinger and reinvigorating it with her sweet pop voice, she was also the youngest person ever to win the UK's Make It or Break It award in 2009. Star Slinger's original track Mornin' is a spacey mix of cuts and samples that come together to create a airy summer vibe that just makes you feel good. The addition of Cheatle's catchy lyrics makes it the perfect track for a Sunday morning after a long weekend of festivals, concerts, friends and burcak.
Dale Earnhardt jr jr - War Zone
Dale Earnhardt jrjr is an indie pop group out of Detroit, Michigan. The group formed back in 2010 and has been running strong for 2 years now. The track War Zone is on their up coming album "The Speed of Things", which will be released on October 8th.
Scavenger Hunt - Lost
Scavenger Hunt is an electro dream pop duo out of L.A. that is comprised of lead singer Jill Lameroux and producer Dan Mufson. Dan is a Kansas native who has been producing music for some time now. He has also been composer of jingles for many well respected companies. Jill and Dan met while Dan was visiting an Irish Pub in L.A. that Jill was singing at. Dan was impressed by what he heard and asked her if she wanted to work with him on a few jingles. After working together for sometime the two found that they enjoyed their creative relationship and decided to make some more beautiful music together. The result: Scavenger Hunt.
Flex Cop - This is not Meth
Here's a little something for all of you Breaking Bad fans out there. Flex Cop's track this is not Meth is a tribute to the BB episode of the same name and should probably come with a warning to let you know that while it's not Meth, it is still HIGHLY addictive. Although the topic of meth never seems to be a bright one, Flex Cop has been able to shine some light on it with this soul infused lighthearted end of summer track.

A$AP Rocky - Fashion Killa (Blackbird Blackbird Remix)
I have to say that I have been a fan of A$AP for a minute now. At first I was put off by his name assuming that it was a rip off of Aesop Rock, but once I heard a few of his jams, that notion quickly faded. In the past few days I found some super solid laid back remixes that have been clogging up my tape decks and i thought it time to share.
RAC - Let Go (ft. Kele & MNDR)
It has been a while since RAC has put out an original production and it seems that they are back at it again and in full force. The last RAC original was their track "Hollywood" ft Penguin Prison. Let Go features Kele (lead singer and front man for Bloc Party) heading up the vocals and Amanda Warner (lead singer for MDNR) following through with the Chorus line. This song has a nice airy feeling that's a welcomed reminder that summer is over yet! The song reminds me slightly of the Clash's track Train in Vain. It is probably due to the catchy underlying bass line that creates an upbeat summery vibe. RAC has continued to produce another catchy fun track that just begs to be put on repeat, which is where it's stuck on my playlist at the moment.

Kavinsky - Odd Look ft the Weeknd & A-Trak remix
Kavinsky just released his new EP Odd Look. As one can expect it is filled with classic 80s synth with some dark overtones. Whenever I think of Kavinsky I am reminded of the opening scene in Drive with the night time cityscape shots. The Weeknd's voice is a solid overlay to this dark electro pop song that helps take it to the next level. So far this track has already been remixed by some big names including A-Trak and Surkin and I am sure that the rest of his EP will be no different.

Jack Magma - Super Powers
Jack Magma is a new up and comer out of Buffalo. He has an eclectic style nu wave synth that I would classify and a electronic synth nu wave funk, some pretty wild stuff. Jack has an EP An Electric Purple coming out sometime some. Jack has signed on Jai Paul as his produce for the EP so you can be sure to expect some big things from this guy in the near future.
Bon Iver Remixes - The Hood Internet & Kill Them With Colour
So i have to say that I never listened to much Bon Iver in the past. I know I know, he's all famous and shit and I should know his stuff, but it just seemed to depressing so I never gave it a chance. That is, until now. I first had my interested peaked by The Hood Internet remix. The track has a nice mellow vibe but still have an peppy little snare and and synth melody. It's a nice tune to wake up to in the morning. The Kill Them With Colour remix however is a little bit more upbeat with its drum roll and eventually mas with Ini Kamoze's "Here comes the Hotstepper. To be honest I was so pleased when that Ini'track blended in. The song already had a really nice vibe going for it and to blend in here comes the hotstepper just seemed totally out of the blue. But after a few run listens I started really getting into it. now i feel it just adds that certain je ne sais quoi.

AlunaGeorge - You Know You Like It (Dj Snake Remix)
Aluna George is a electronic duo from London who have been together since 2009. The duo consist of Aluna Francis (vocals) and George Reid (production). The group is releasing their first album at the end of July called Body Music. So far they are having a lot of success and the album hasn't even been released yet. There have also been some great remixes of their tracks. One by trap music superstar Baauer and also my personal favorite, the DJ Snake remix, featured below. This track reminds me a lot of another trap remix of No Doubt by Baauer.
Chromatics - Ceremony (New Order Cover) [ft. Ida No]
Chromatics have always been a great band to sit back and mellow out to. Lately here in Prague, it is been too hot to move. So a good track to sit back and chill out to is just what the doctor ordered. I was riding my bike home from work the other day and this track came on and immediately all the stress from the office just started to melt away once the hazy beat and melodic guitar rhythm come in. Chromatics have always been up there on my list, but they haven't been producing many tracks that really get me going until this remix of New Order's (or Joy Division, depends on who you're asking) track Ceremony. The original track(s) are great too, but there is something about Ruth Radelet's voice that adds something special to it. So sit back, let your day melt away and enjoy!

John Wizards - Lusaka By Night
John Wizards is a band that was started by a chance meeting in Cape Town, South Africa. The lead singer Emmanuel Nzaramba, met the other producer/ lead guitarist John Withers while working as a car guard in Cape Town. Emmanuel noticed the guitar strapped to John's back and the two starting speaking about music and then eventually ended up living on the same street as each other. John invited E to check out a local reggae band playing and although E didn't like the band much he did like some of the new music that John had written and began listening to some of the tracks and making lyrics for them. The product of these fruitful meetings are on their debut album and the song below. Enjoy!
Joywave - Tongues (feat KOPPS) The Hood Internet Remix
I just got back from a 2 week vacation that spanned across three counties and countless amounts of booze, fun and sun. After this trip one thing is for sure (or well two if you count my sunburn), this song was the highlight of it. Driving south from the Czech Republic down to the Austrian alps for a short modeling gig, then to lake bled in Slovenia for a little small town r&r and finally to the rocky shores of Croatia. All in all it was around a 20 hour drive down and back so we definitely needed something with a rockin beat to keep us going. Needless to say The Hood Internet delivered again. These Chicago natives have been bringing the heat for years and it looks like this summer they are planning some record breaking highs.

Action Bronson
I first heard Action Bronson on the All Out Show promoting the G Pen. (Quick side note, if you have not heard the All Out Show, go sign up for XM Radio and listen to it). This Queens native looks like the Albanian Biggie Smalls, and sounds a lot like Ghostface. Check em out.

EMPT's: Le Miel du Mois Juin 2013
Et Musique Pour Tous has been mentioned a few times already on this site and it's happening again and for good reason. It's summer time and it's time to get outside and let your senses go wild and what a better night than tonight: the summer solstice. I know I plan to welcome the summer "with arms wide open", as my buddy Dantoni's favorite band Creed would say. Here in Prague there is a free music festival across the city this weekend to mark the beginning of summer. I plan to spend my weekend dancing the night away to some funky electro beats. Then sharing some beers with friends as the sun rises. Ahhh summer, it's good to have you back.
